I think it’s rather contradictory really. Sylvester Stallone, Arnold, and others now talk about the risks of steroids, and they used them. Others like major leaguers use them now and deny it, even though the piss test confirms it. And then there’s Sylvester Stallone again, who got caught actually sneaking HGH injections, which are highly illegal, in for his own use. Steroids have been largely connected to the same bad connotations as steroids and banned in major league and Olympic sports in general, and yet Stallone apparently thinks he knows better. I was never a big fan of Rambo, Rocky, or any of those other movies of my dad’s age in time. But now even my dad is turning away from it with this kind of behavior.
Sylvester Stallone used to be an American icon, even to the point of being Cher’s boy toy when she was popular… But anyway, since that time, he really hasn’t had anything big. People make fun of his acting, places don’t really want to hire him, and he’s washed out. So though he was famous for a few movies way back when, I guess it could be his way of trying to get back into the game. Hugh Jackman got ripped for the recent movie Wolverine: Origins. He didn’t use steroids or HGH, or at least not as far as I know. According to sources, he worked out like a machine and otherwise. But mostly, I’m wondering how kids are looking at this who have grown up with the Rocky movies and so on, with their parents’ old loves, and how they are considering this.
